Assistant Director-Residential (Full Time, 40 Hours, Exempt Position)

GENERAL DUTIES: The Assistant Director-Residential is responsible for the operation of a portion of the Home & Community Connections program; has responsibility for up to 20 people living in a variety of situations; and is responsible for program development and management within the program assignment. The Assistant Director-Residential is responsible for the oversight of all health and safety needs of individuals supported.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Design a program consistent with the development of true homes for people supported, enhancing social integration; overseeing ISP implementation and programmatic strategies based on individual desires; strategic planning for improvements, develop linkages with other services ensuring that these services are delivered consistently with the individual’s needs and program philosophy; serve as program liaison with DDS Service Coordinators.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s Degree in human service field or education required. Professional experience may be substituted for educational requirement.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum of four years’ experience with individuals with disabilities or other human service field, minimum two years supervisory experience, intellectual disability experience desirable, residential services experience preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License, two years positive driving history, and reliable transportation. A basic competency in computer skills which include navigating windows based programs and the internet.

ONCALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Assistant Director-Residential is on-call for the programs they oversee from Monday at 8:30am through Friday at 4:30pm. The Senior Residential Manager is the on-call supervisor on the weekends and holidays on a rotating basis (typically every three weeks). A Director provides on-call support to the Senior Residential Manager as back-up.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Strong leadership abilities; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to effectively manage budgets; self-knowledge and ability to assess the performance and capabilities of others; ability to set priorities and make decisions; commitment to continuously examine and improve services; ability to think strategically; capacity for innovation, creativity, sound decision making, and excellent problem solving skills.

LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: Ability to safely lift 25 pounds is required.

HOURS:  Full time, salaried position with great benefits position includes on-call responsibilities.
