Salasin Project

Like stones cast into still water, violence creates a series of endless concentric ripples changing the surface, displacing women and children from the center of their own lives and pushing them to the margins. It is from the margins of poverty, homelessness, substance abuse, and emotional distress that service delivery systems often encounter them.
Our vision is to create a safe community for every woman and every family. Our vision is to create a community that can provide supports, services, and solace to families and individuals who are living in fear. More importantly, our vision is to create a community where every member can achieve a full and satisfying life free of violence and all its consequences. We believe this can happen by providing individual and family supports in a healing community. This vision is guided by three principles: all supports and resources must be trauma-informed; all persons and families seeking assistance are experts in their lives and in their healing; and individual, family and community safety can best be accomplished through trauma-informed community based services and educated and aware citizens prepared to connect to those in need.
