|Location||Franklin County, MA|
Advocate position (5-8 hours) based in Franklin County.
Offer peer-to-peer support, group facilitation, assistance with finding resources, and more as part of the Wildflower Alliance’s Franklin County team. The position will be based in Turners Falls and/or the Greenfield center, to be determined by the communities’ needs and candidate’s availability. Compensation $14.50 to $16.50 per hour (depending on completion of trainings, and bilingual abilities).
Required: First-hand experience with psychiatric diagnosis (you yourself being given a diagnosis), hospitalization (you yourself being hospitalized), homelessness (you yourself living without a home), problems with substances (you yourself struggling with addiction or problems with substances), and/or other life-interrupting challenges. Commitment to challenging racism, sexism, and other types of systemic oppression, and developing multicultural environments that can create a sense of belonging.
Preferred/A Plus: Knowledge of local resources; Knowledge of peer support and related movements. Bilingual/bicultural (bilingual in Spanish/English or ASL/English) a big plus. Intentional Peer Support, Alternatives to Suicide, Hearing Voices, and/or other peer support trainings.
